That evidence does not prove that Restore 3 treats chronic insomnia, seasonal affective disorder, delayed sleep-wake phase disorder or depression. The amount, timing and wavelength of light used in clinical treatment can differ from a consumer bedside clock.
Restore is best understood as a habit and environment tool. Its benefit is most likely to come from using a consistent schedule, lowering bright light before bed and creating a repeatable wind-down routine.
Healthy sleep habits still matter more
NIH and CDC guidance emphasizes:

- Allowing enough time for sleep

Safe infant sleep remains essential
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends placing infants on their backs in their own firm, flat sleep space with a fitted sheet and without loose blankets, pillows, toys or bumpers.
A sound machine or light does not change these safe-sleep requirements. Hatch Baby should be placed outside the crib and positioned so the device, power cord and cable cannot be reached or pulled into the sleep space.

The clip is useful on a stroller or bag while the child is supervised. Do not leave the loop, charging cable or device loose inside a crib, bassinet or travel crib.
For overnight use, place Hatch Go on a stable surface outside the sleep space and keep the volume low.
Recycled-plastic construction
Hatch says the Go outer shell is made from 99% post-consumer recycled plastic. This reduces the use of virgin plastic in that part of the product.
The device still contains electronics and a rechargeable battery. It should be handled through an appropriate electronics-recycling program rather than placed in ordinary household recycling at end of life.

Hatch’s public materials are not perfectly aligned on trial renewal. A 2026 Hatch Baby article says the included premium period does not auto-renew, while the return-policy support page warns trial users to cancel Hatch+ to avoid a later charge.
The safest approach is to open the Hatch app and the relevant app-store subscription page before the trial ends, then confirm whether renewal is active.
Does Hatch+ provide medical sleep coaching?
Hatch Baby includes access to sleep-support content and certified sleep consultants under the premium service. This can help with routines, schedules and common parenting questions.
It is not a substitute for a pediatrician when a baby has poor weight gain, breathing concerns, fever, unusual lethargy, feeding problems or suspected illness. It also does not replace emergency care.
Privacy and connectivity
